Located in the Georgetown area, about 4 miles south of
downtown Seattle, The St. Vincent de Paul Food & Clothing bank provides food
that is distributed to both homeless and non-homeless individuals and
families. People living within our service area are eligible for government
commodities. Clothing is available for people in need. Visiting nurse
services provide free monthly visits, checking blood pressure, screening for
health problems, and making appropriate referrals.
The St. Vincent de Paul Food and Clothing Bank gives out over
100,000 pounds of food per month, serving over 3200 households and more than
7,200 people. Additionally we help with special non-cook food bags for
between 700 to 1000 homeless people per month.
All this work would not be possible without the help of our
volunteers who provide over 700 work hours per month. Those volunteers help
sort food donations, sort clothing, register clients, enter data into our
computer, hand out food bags, and answer questions.
